Home / Indigenous Peoples Summer Training Program
The Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) offers five summer training programs, each lasting six weeks, combining a variety of Military training and Indigenous cultural teachings. These programs help participants develop valuable skills such as self-confidence, self-discipline, teamwork, time management, respect, and fitness. This opportunity allows participants to discover more about themselves and realize what they can achieve through hard work, perseverance, and collaboration.
The CAF arranges for travel to and from the program, provides living accommodations, food, clothing and all necessary equipment. While participating in the program, individuals are considered temporary CAF members and will be paid during their participation in the program.
In addition to obtaining general Military knowledge and important life skills such as first aid and navigation, St. Regis students who complete this program will be granted credits for a full 4-credit grade 11 course contributing to their graduation under Career Experience.
