Home / Bursary Education Program
At St. Regis, our Bursary Education Program provides the full extent of our educational opportunities to those who possess the talents and qualities, but not the financial means to invest in quality independent school education.
More than 75% of our students benefit from our bursary education program, which is one of the biggest and most committed in all British Columbia. We accept a diverse group of recipients, such as families who survived the residential school system and war refugees from Eritrea and Ukraine. Our goal is to remove financial obstacles to high-quality education, which have been a major contributor to poverty cycles that persist across generations.
Our community partners such as MOSAIC help us identify potential candidates for the Bursary Education Program by conducting financial assessment reviews. We strongly encourage candidates interested in the program to inform one of our admission officers at the beginning of their application process.
As a member of the Nisga’a, Gitxaala, and Haisla Nation, Drea has been exploring her proud indigenous heritage and cultural traditions since she was a child. Drea is a talented artist and musician, and she has been actively using her skills to serve the community in furthering people’s understanding of indigenous cultures and traditions. Aside from attending school and working as an employee of UBC’s Museum of Anthropology, Drea also serves as a First Nations ambassador in BC. At St. Regis, she is the lead singer of our senior chamber choir and an advisor to our school on First Nations matters.
