Advance University Credit

The Running-Up Strategic Partnership Program is a unique academic partnership program between St. Regis and UBC’s affiliated school of theology, St. Mark’s College. This program offers St. Regis students with the unique opportunity to get ahead, as St. Regis grade 11 and 12 students can complete first-year university courses while still in high school.

This program is recognized by the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care, and therefore university credits completed under this program are given dual credits status. This means that students will earn both first-year university credits that are recognized by most Canadian and US universities, as well as relevant high school course credits. The university courses offered through this program are precisely the same as those offered at UBC and St. Mark’s College. A wide range of first-year university courses are offered under this program, including courses of major interest such as English, Math, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Psychology and Economics. 

The Running-Up Strategic Partnership Program challenges our students to an early, realistic first-hand experience of university education. The courses are taught face-to-face by university professors who teach in St. Mark’s College and UBC on UBC Campus. The curriculum also helps students discover their areas of interest, expedites their time to graduation, and gives our students a tremendous push to build their university application profiles, as all credits are fully recognized and transferrable to most major Canadian and US universities including UBC and U of T.
