Definition & Education
St. Regis Secondary School (SRSS) is a university-style independent high school certified by the BC Ministry of Education and Child Care for our grade 8-12 education program. Our school community is guided by a strong set of values and goals, and driven by our sense of community and social commitment. These principles define who we are and how we teach our children.
A university-style high school is a special type of high school that bridges the gap between conventional high school education and university education. Additionally, a university-style high school gives students the opportunity to advance academically. A university-style high school incorporates numerous significant components of a university education into our curriculum while still enabling the students to finish a conventional high school curriculum. Among these include a program that enables students to finish post-secondary courses that are recognized and transferable to UBC and U of T in their first year, as well as lecture series given by university professors and government specialists.
Our education program gives our students a cutting-edge advantage in facing the fierce competition for admission in top-ranking universities. Our program provides our students with the evidence to prove to admissions officers that they not only have the knowledge and skills to meet the expectations of the universities, but they are also immersed in the culture, mindset and environment of post-secondary institutions.
On average over the past 3 years, 82% of St. Regis graduates successfully obtained admission offers from QS World Top 50 universities such as the University of British Columbia (UBC), University of Toronto (U of T), University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), and Hong Kong University (HKU), where they pursue their ambitions in commerce, engineering, science, and the humanities.
In 2024, 90% of St. Regis grade 12 students received an admission offer from UBC and 89% of St. Regis grade 12 students received an admission offer from U of T- This can be added to section 2.
